The Vietnam garment industry enters the final months of 2026 with an uneven order outlook. According to a report published by Saigon Investment on September 18, 2026, some businesses have work secured through year-end, while others are taking longer to confirm fourth-quarter orders.
Rising costs and pressure on delivery schedules
Higher material and transport costs are putting pressure on production prices. Delayed fabric deliveries can also disrupt scheduling. Meanwhile, major markets increasingly require material traceability, labor standards and sustainable production. Improving quality, securing materials and finding additional customers are among the industry’s responses.

ANGEL’s perspective: Better preparation helps reduce unexpected costs
For garment factories and fashion brands, each order should begin with agreement on the sample, fabric, measurement chart and finishing standards. Checking fabric availability before confirming the production schedule helps both sides set realistic deadlines.
For new brands, sample development and a small trial order can help assess the product before increasing quantities. Manufacturers also need to account for all costs, clearly explain their capacity and keep customers informed of progress.
